Questions? Ask a Beekeeper
  • A colony of honey bees is made of 40,000 to 60,000 bees.

  • The Queen Bee doesn't even take care of her self. Attendants feed her and keep her clean.

  • Worker bees have many jobs during their life. Their first job is to clean their room.

  • A honey bee can only sting a human once, because their stinger has barbs like a fishing hook and gets stuck in our skin.

  • A Queen Bee only flies out of the hive to mate. Her mating flight is 50 feet high in the air.

  • 1/3 of the food we eat could not have grown without pollinators like bees and butterflies.
